Robert W. Phelps, CFA

Mr. Phelps, a Principal of the firm and financial-market professional since 1986, provides portfolio management, research and client service.  He has developed proprietary measures for determining the optimal asset allocation for individuals, and specializes in implementing the resulting strategy for each client.

Prior to co-founding Oarsman Capital, Bob was Vice President and Portfolio Manager with Baird Investment Management (Robert W. Baird & Co.’s asset management arm) and Principal and Portfolio Manager with Marietta Investment Partners, LLC.  Before joining Baird, Bob spent seven years as an officer of the Kingsley State Bank, Kingsley, Iowa.  He is on the Board of Directors of the Kingsley State Bank.

Bob received his MBA degree from the University of Iowa and BA degree in Business Administration from Luther College, Decorah, Iowa.  He was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 1997.


Alan Purintun, CFA

Mr. Purintun is a Principal of the firm and has managed investment portfolios for high-net-worth individuals and institutions since 1994. Alan provides portfolio management, research and client service.  As the firm’s Director of Research, he specializes in equity security valuation and analysis of global macro-economic and financial-market developments.

Prior to co-founding Oarsman Capital, Alan was First Vice President and Portfolio Manager with Baird Investment Management (Robert W. Baird & Co.’s asset management arm) and Principal and Portfolio Manager with Marietta Investment Partners, LLC.  Before joining Baird, Alan spent six years as an intelligence officer with the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency in Washington, D.C.

Alan received his MBA degree, with honors, from the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College; he also holds a BA degree, magna cum laude, in history from Yale University.  He was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 1997.


Benjamin J. Kebbekus

Mr. Kebbekus, Research Analyst and Portfolio Manager, specializes in applying comprehensive research analysis to the portfolio management process.  Ben has extensive experience performing detailed analytical work on both private and publicly traded securities.

Prior to joining Oarsman Capital in 2004, Ben developed his analytical skills in the private equity market as an analyst with Cedar Creek Partners, Milwaukee.  Prior to Cedar Creek Partners, Ben was a Financial Advisor with UBS.

Ben holds BA and MBA degrees in Business Administration-Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.


Thomas H. Nackers

Tom Nackers has been an investment professional since 1981.  Prior to joining Oarsman Capital, Tom managed Investment Designers, Inc, a financial planning firm he co-founded with his brother, Bud Nackers.  He also founded Nackers & Associates, an investment advisory firm that is now a division of Oarsman Capital.  Tom manages the Brookfield office of Oarsman Capital and has extensive expertise in utilizing option strategies to reduce risk and increase income within a portfolio.

Mr. Nackers holds an MS in Business Management and a BS in Business Education from University of Wisconsin – Whitewater.


Gerald W. Nackers, AAMS

Gerald “Bud” Nackers has nearly 20 years of investment experience.  Prior to joining Oarsman Capital, Bud established the Appleton office of Nackers & Associates (now a division of Oarsman Capital).  Bud also co-founded Investment Designers with his brother, Tom.  Bud began his investment career with the Prudential Insurance Company in 1989.  Mr. Nackers specializes in financial planning and developing optimal investment structures for Corporate Retirement Plans.

Mr. Nackers is an Accredited Asset Management Specialist.  He manages the Appleton office of Nackers & Associates, a division of Oarsman Capital.


Peter S. Lautmann, CFA

Mr. Lautmann, a research analyst and portfolio manager with the firm, has been a financial markets professional since 1980. In addition to working closely with clients, his focus is on in-depth equity and fixed-income research with an emphasis on finding discounted value in securities.

Prior to joining Oarsman, Peter was a principal and co-founder of Kitzinger Lautmann Capital Management, Inc. Before co-founding KLCM in 1993, Peter spent eight years as research analyst and portfolio manager with First Wisconsin Trust/US Bank Trust, and before that was a securities analyst with Transamerica Investment Services.

Peter earned an MS in Finance at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he was a participant in the Applied Security Analysis Program, graduating in May 1980. He received a BA degree in Business Administration from Colorado College. Mr. Lautmann was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 1984.


Brent V. Schneider, CFP

Mr. Schneider, Investment Advisor, specializes in developing investment strategies for individual and institutional retirement programs.  He has been an investment professional since 1991.  Mr. Schneider manages the firm’s Madison area office.

Prior to joining Oarsman Capital in 2004, Brent managed his own financial planning firm founded in 1991.  Prior to that, Brent spent five years working with Fortune 500 companies in the financial and construction industries.

Brent holds a BA degree in Business Administration from Luther College, Decorah, Iowa.  Mr. Schneider was awarded the Certified Financial Planner designation from the College of Financial Planning in 1997.

 


Douglas W Schwartz

Douglas W Schwartz, Investment Advisor, began his career in the investment profession in 1978. Douglas joined Oarsman Capital in 2015. For the previous 19 years, he was President and sole owner of Riley & Schwartz Investment Advisors located in Door County, Wisconsin. Prior experience included stints with Piper Jaffray and Paine Webber. Douglas was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota. Doug manages the Oarsman Capital Inc. office in Ephraim, WI.

 


Matthew Klewer

Mr. Klewer has been an Investment Adviser Representative with Oarsman Capital, Inc. since 2010.  Matt works with individual clients and institutions, helping to develop and implement investment plans tailored to fit each client’s objectives.

Prior to joining Oarsman, Mr. Klewer was a Registered Representative with Waterstone Financial Group from 2003 to 2009. Mr. Klewer received a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, with a Financial Planning emphasis, from UW–Whitewater.  He is also a Registered Representative of Triad Advisors, LLC.

Mr. Klewer has successfully passed FINRA Series 7, General Securities
