Newsweek, in partnership with Plant-A Insights Group, analyzed more than 15,000 firms and scored them based on the following factors:
- Asset Performance: Growth in assets under management (AUM), reflecting both financial performance and a solid client base.
- Client Performance: Retention and growth of the client base, a hallmark of strong relationships and ability to attract new clients.
- Advisor Expertise: Credentialed expertise and client-to-advisor ratios, helping to ensure personalized attention.
- Service Offerings: The breadth of services provided, including financial planning and investment management.
- Absence of Conflicts: Commitment to fiduciary responsibility
To qualify for the ranking, firms must manage at least $20 million in assets, employ a minimum of three wealth advisors, have at least five individual clients, and maintain two years of SEC registration. Firms were also assessed on their disciplinary records and the availability of portfolio management services for individual investors.
